Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-07 · Version 1.0

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Continued use of the site means you accept these Terms, including any later revision shown by the version and date above.

Disclaimer of liability

The Service and the data it publishes are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, uptime, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not act as an oracle service, financial advisor, partner, agent, or fiduciary. Publishing data or deploying a contract does not create any of those relationships. Anyone who reads, calls, integrates, or relies on a contract or its data does so entirely at their own risk. Feeds may be interrupted, delayed, wrong, or discontinued at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost funds, liquidated collateral, failed transactions, network fees, or smart contract exploits, arising out of use of or reliance on the Service or any contract state. A person who never opens this website has not agreed to these Terms. The contract source and its disclaimer() method carry the same notice for anyone inspecting the program.

2. The Service

“Events on Algorand” (the “Service”, “we”, “us”) is a platform that mirrors the state of real-world events, published by upstream data providers, onto the Algorand blockchain as smart contracts (“Event State Contracts”). Users may subscribe to these contracts and create automations that call user-controlled smart contracts when a tracked event resolves.

On this deployment the Service only writes state to contracts it deploys. It does not call any other contract.

In these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the person who operates the Service and anyone who helps operate, build, or maintain it. Limits, releases, and disclaimers in these Terms run to each of those people.

3. Relationship to upstream data providers

The Service relies on data from third-party upstream data providers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with any upstream data provider. We do not control how those providers grade, settle, correct, or void events. We make no warranty that upstream data is accurate, timely, complete, or free from error or manipulation.

If an upstream provider mis-grades, re-grades, retracts, or otherwise alters the state of an event, the corresponding on-chain Event State Contract may reflect that altered state. We accept no responsibility for any consequence of such upstream actions.

4. Smart contracts — informational only

All smart contracts published, deployed, or operated by the Service on the Algorand blockchain are made available for informational purposes only. Nothing published on-chain by the Service constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice, an offer to sell or solicitation to buy any security or other financial instrument, or a recommendation of any kind.

You are solely responsible for evaluating whether and how to use these contracts and any data they expose. Do your own research and consult your own qualified advisors before acting on anything published through the Service.

We give no guarantee of correctness. Outcomes, grades, scores, timestamps, sequence numbers, and any other state we publish — on this website, through an API, or on chain — may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, duplicated, retracted, or missing. Publishing an outcome is not a representation that it is true, final, or fit for any decision, including any decision with financial consequences.

5. Use at your own risk

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.

Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Smart contracts may contain bugs. On-chain fees, network congestion, infrastructure outages, and upstream data issues may all result in delayed, missed, incorrect, or otherwise unintended on-chain outcomes. We do not guarantee that any automation will fire, that any contract will be updated in any particular timeframe, or that the Service will be available at any particular time.

6. No liability for published outcomes or how contracts are used

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any outcome, transaction, balance change, contract execution, loss, or damage of any kind — including any financial loss — arising from how an outcome is published or from how any contract or published data is read or used, including but not limited to:

  • how an outcome is obtained, interpreted, published, updated, corrected, or left unpublished;
  • the correctness, completeness, timeliness, or finality of any outcome or other state;
  • how any person or program reads, parses, copies, subscribes to, or otherwise uses an Event State Contract or any data the Service publishes, on chain or off chain, with or without an account;
  • incorrect, late, missed, or duplicated state updates;
  • automations that fail to fire, fire incorrectly, or fire on incorrect data;
  • losses caused by upstream mis-gradings, corrections, or retractions;
  • any loss of funds held in user balances, signer wallets, or contracts;
  • any consequence flowing from third-party smart contracts that consume data published by the Service.

You, and anyone you build for, assume the entire risk of relying on a published outcome or on the contents of any contract associated with the Service.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or digital assets, whether or not we were advised that such damages were possible.

If, despite these Terms, we are found liable for a claim arising out of the Service, our total liability will not exceed the fees you actually paid us for the Service during the twelve (12) months before the claim arose. If you paid us nothing, that cap is zero. The cap applies to all claims in the aggregate, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise.

These limits apply under any theory, including contract, negligence, strict liability, and any other tort. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

8. Release

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release us from every claim, demand, and cause of action, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, arising out of or related to the Service, any published outcome, any Event State Contract, any automation, any balance or fee, or any decision made in reliance on data from the Service.

You waive any statute that would otherwise limit a general release to claims you know about when you agree, including California Civil Code § 1542 if it would otherwise apply. That statute says a general release does not extend to claims the releasing party does not know or suspect to exist at the time of the release, which if known would have materially affected the settlement.

9. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) brought by anyone else and arising out of your use of the Service, your account, your automations, your smart contracts, your reliance on published data, or any product or contract you build that reads or uses data from the Service. We may control the defense of any such claim that names us.

10. No duty to monitor or correct

We have no obligation to publish an outcome, to keep any contract or data available, or to monitor, update, correct, retract, or warn anyone that published data may be wrong, late, or incomplete.

11. User responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and any Algorand keys you control.
  • You are responsible for any smart contract you instruct the Service to call via an automation, including ensuring it accepts calls from the platform’s assigned signer.
  • You are responsible for understanding any fees charged by the Service before depositing funds or creating automations.
  • You agree not to use the Service to engage in unlawful activity or to harm the Service or other users.

12. Fees and balances

The Service charges fees, payable in ALGO, for contract deployment, automation setup, and per-trigger dispatch. Fees may change over time and are displayed in-product before they are charged. User balances held by the Service are custodial; deposit and withdrawal flows are subject to operational availability.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date and version above. We may, but are not required to, additionally notify you by email. If you keep using the Service after a revision, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 1, 3–10, 15, and 16 survive termination.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

16. Severability

If a court holds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Any invalid part will be narrowed to the minimum extent required to make it valid, and that narrowed part will be enforced.

17. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the operator via the contact channel listed on the landing page or in the project repository.
